Cake Knives and Servers from Beverly Clark
The origins of the Wedding Cake
The wedding cake was originally not a dessert for the guests but a fertility symbol for the newly wed couple! In fact the Ancient Romans would bake a cake made of wheat or barley and break it over the bride’s head as a symbol of her fertility. Times have changed! Nowadays the couple use a wedding cake knife and server, often engraved with the names of the bride and groom and their wedding date so they can keep it for their anniversary celebrations.
Cake Knives and Servers
Cutting the cake is one of the highlights of the reception and marks the first time the bride and groom feed each other as man and wife! It's a symbolic and special moment. We offer a wonderful range of cake servers and knives to make this a memorable event. And if you would like to have them as a keepsake, we can engrave them with your names and wedding date (all personalizing is free) Click on the links below to begin browsing our selection of wedding unity candles and candle holders... > Cake Knives and Servers > Matching Server and Flute sets > Cake Servers from the Hortense Hewitt line |
